Senior Charities Audit Manager

 

haysmacintyre is a 23 partner firm of Chartered Accountants and business advisers with around 150 staff, delivering a wide range of specialist services from a single location in central London.

 

Our services include audit (both internal and external) business tax, corporate finance, personal tax and financial services, VAT, business support, employer support, company secretarial, IT and other advisory services relevant to the charity sector including risk management, corporate governance, and reporting on control environments.

 

We currently have a vacancy for a Senior Charity Audit Manager to work closely with Partners running a busy portfolio within our charity sectors.  This would be a mix of schools, religious orders, grant makers, service delivery charities and associations.  We have retained charity auditor of the year award for the third time in a row from the Charity Finance Magazine survey, the “Overall Service Award” and additionally won for 2009 the award for “Commitment to the Voluntary Sector”.

 

The jobs within the portfolio will involve a cross spectrum of the sectors mentioned above and ranging from small private companies/charities to large private/public companies/associations.  A sound knowledge of risk management, governance and internal control environments within charities is essential.

 

The successful candidate will be able to multitask in terms of handling more than one client simultaneously but ultimately have the technical and personal skills to service the portfolio of clients efficiently and effectively.  You will have excellent communication skills and be confident, articulate and able to communicate at all levels externally and internally.  You will be capable of producing high quality business style reports for non executive committees and have excellent presentation skills for both tendering for new work and presenting at seminars on charity specific topics .  We are looking for a team player with the ability to prioritise work and work to tight deadlines.  Strong organisational skills are essential.  Knowledge of Microsoft Office packages including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet, and a working knowledge of Tax are also required.
